The Mela Basic dog collar is made from apple leather, a durable vegan and partially plant-based leather that is produced using the leftovers from the Italian apple juice and compote industry. 

Apple leather is beautiful vegan leather that is highly performant and whose appearance and feel closely resemble animal leather - with the distinction that it is 100% cruelty-free and significantly more durable.

Our goal was to create high-quality products from the best plant-based leather that could sit on the shelf right next to similar models made from Italian leather and be practically indistinguishable.
